<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique that improves productivity in image processing while suppressing the occurrence of serious jam. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes: an image processing unit for processing an image using a sheet 5; a conveyance mechanism that has a conveyance path 43, and conveys the sheet along the conveyance path; at least one position detection unit 33 that detects a position (xl, yl) of an end of the sheet 5 that is conveyed on the conveyance path; at least one skew quantity detection unit 33 that detects a skew quantity θof the sheet, an end position of which is detected; a prediction unit that predicts first predicted a position (xe, ye) where the end LT of the sheet protrudes by a predetermined amount ΔWt from a predetermined width Wt in a direction X crossing a sheet conveyance direction based on the end position (xl, yl) detected by the position detection unit and the skew quantity θ detected by the skew quantity detection unit; and a stopping unit that stops the conveyance mechanism before the first predicted position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
