<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of performing polarization control because a Doppler lidar device including a fiber amplifier minimizes the influence of a polarization fluctuation inside an optical fiber amplifier. <P>SOLUTION: An optical demultiplexing circuit 2 demultiplexes a laser beam from a reference light source 1 for oscillating a laser beam into transmission signal light and local oscillation light, and an optical fiber amplifier 4 having a polarization holding characteristic amplifies the transmission signal light demultiplexed by the optical demultiplexing circuit 2 and emits the amplified transmission signal light in the air. An optical reception circuit 7 receives scattered light in the air as reception light, and multiplexes the reception light and the local oscillation light demultiplexed by the optical demultiplexing circuit 2. A Doppler lidar device which does not require polarization control is obtained by extracting a fluctuation component of the local oscillation light of the reception light as an electric signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
