<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight device and a display device such that a center of a display panel can be illuminated brightly and a bezel width can be decreased. <P>SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, a display device includes a display panel, first and second light sources, and a first light guide plate. The first light source projects light toward a first region of the display panel. The second light source is provided at an inner side from an edge of the display panel while facing a direction different from the first light source.
