PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode material capable of improving electrode performance. SOLUTION: The electrode material is composed of a spherical carbide in which the average particle diameter obtained by carbonizing at least one of spherical phenol resin particulates and spherical furan resin particulates is 1,000 nm or less. Like this, since this electrode material is the carbide of a high carbonizing density in which the phenol resin and a furan resin of a high carbonization yield are raw materials and this is nano order particulates and has a large specific surface area, the electrode performance can be improved.
