<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guard fence capable of reducing the damage to a column as much as possible by suppressing transmission of shock to the column even when a large shock is applied to a horizontal rail. <P>SOLUTION: Because a column 1 is steel and a horizontal rail 2 is aluminum alloy, and the horizontal rail 2 of aluminum alloy has a lower strength compared with a steel horizontal rail with high strength, the horizontal rail 2 bends to absorb shock so that the transmission of shock to the column 1 can be suppressed.
