<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use a desulfurization agent in the entire region of a desulfurization agent layer in the direction of fuel flow when using a desulfurization catalyst, as the desulfurization agent, for producing hydrogen from a part of fuel through a dehydrogenation reaction, and performing hydrodesulfurization using the hydrogen, and to increase the life thereof. <P>SOLUTION: According to use history (total oil throughput, etc.), the position of the dehydrogenation reaction is changed by using a heater to change the temperature distribution in the desulfurization agent layer in the direction of fuel flow. Specifically, a region that is pre-set to a dehydrogenation reaction temperature T so as to cause a dehydrogenation reaction is changed in the direction of fuel flow, and the area upstream of the region is controlled so as to be at a temperature lower than the dehydrogenation reaction temperature T. For example, a temperature gradient is provided in the desulfurization agent layer in a manner such that the upstream side in the direction of fuel flow has a lower temperature, and as use history increases, the temperature overall is raised while maintaining this temperature gradient. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
