<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new cyanine dye enabling an improvement in photoelectric conversion efficiency in the near-infrared region, and a dye-sensitized solar cell and a photoelectric conversion element containing the same and exhibiting improved photoelectric conversion efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: A cyanine dye is represented by the formula (1), and a dye-sensitized solar cell contains the same. In the formula, R<SB POS="POST">1</SB>and R<SB POS="POST">2</SB>represent a C1-C30 alkyl group or a C1-C30 halogen-substituted alkyl group, A represents an atomic group forming a ring structure containing a five- or six-membered ring with a carbon atom in an adjacent ring, X<SP POS="POST">-</SP>represents a halogen anion, BF<SB POS="POST">4</SB><SP POS="POST">-</SP>, or CClO<SB POS="POST">4</SB><SP POS="POST">-</SP>, and n represents an integer of 0 to 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
