<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more simple and safe production method by which an asymmetric aromatic carboxylic acid diester can be obtained in a high yield. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the asymmetric aromatic carboxylic acid diester is characterized by having a process for contact-reacting an aromatic carboxylic acid diester represented by following general formula (1): R<SP POS="POST">1</SP><SB POS="POST">k</SB>(C<SB POS="POST">6</SB>H<SB POS="POST">4-k</SB>)(COOR<SP POS="POST">2</SP>)<SB POS="POST">2</SB>(wherein, R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>is a halogen atom or 1-20C alkyl; R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>is 1-20C linear or branched alkyl or the like; k is a number of R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>substituents consisting of 0 or an integer of 1-4) with a magnesium compound represented by the following general formula (2): Mg(OR<SP POS="POST">3</SP>)<SB POS="POST">2</SB>(wherein, R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>is 1-4C straight chain alkyl or branched alkyl and is different from R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>) in a non-polar organic solvent having a dielectric constant of ≤2.2 at 20°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
