<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce vibration responses in the vertical direction of a building installed via a base isolation device. <P>SOLUTION: A base isolation structure includes: a foundation plate 5 supported on a floor 3 via the base isolation device 4; a main structure 6 connected integrally on the foundation plate 5; and a mass damper 7 for generating second vertical vibration for suppressing the vibrations of the main structure from first vertical vibrations input via the foundation plate 5.
