<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which, when an optical cable is disconnected or an optical connector is detached, communication light is unintentionally outputted to the optical cable, resulting in damage to an eye that may occur by looking into the optical cable. <P>SOLUTION: An optical cable connection system comprises: one or a plurality of terminal devices; and a connector for connecting between a first optical cable in an optical communication network and a second optical cable drawn into each terminal device. Each terminal device and/or the connector emits monitor light having a wavelength different from that of communication light and multiplexes the communication light and the monitor light to output the multiplexed light to the second optical cable. Meanwhile, the opposed connector and/or each terminal device separates a wavelength of input light inputted through the second optical cable and receives the monitor light, and controls output of the communication light to the second optical cable according to a light receiving state of the monitor light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
