<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor whether or not an operation of a storage device is normal when mutually monitoring presence/absence of occurrence of a fault between monitoring devices. <P>SOLUTION: Timers 31 and 32 perform a count operation of counting up or counting down a timer value in a fixed cycle. When the timer value of the timer 31 becomes a preset value, an interruption signal output part 34 resets the timer 31 and outputs interruption signals to the other monitoring device. A determination part 35 measures elapsed time on the basis of the timer value of the timer 32, and when the next interruption signal cannot be received even when fixed time elapses after the interruption signal from a certain monitoring device is received, determines that a fault has occurred in the monitoring device. A notification part 36 notifies the outside of a determination result in the determination part 35.
