<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal, a broadcast recording method, a data server, and a program capable of compensating data of a recorded program only in an area where the program can be viewed. <P>SOLUTION: A television broadcast reception part 102 receives a television program. A control part 109 records video data of the received television program in a video data storage part 1081. A GPS receiver 110 acquires position information indicating an own position. The control part 109 acquires the video data of the television program from a data server and compensates the video data of the recorded television program when the position to be identified by the acquired position information belongs to an area where the television program can be viewed.
