<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter device that can more accurately estimate the lifetime of an electrolytic capacitor. <P>SOLUTION: According to one embodiment, capacity change estimation means estimates the change of electrostatic capacity of an electrolytic capacitor with respect to the electrostatic capacity at a reference time point, and storage means stores data showing temporal change of electrostatic capacity under specific reference conditions as a temporal change data, which has been preassigned to the electrolytic capacitor. In addition, life estimation means estimates the actual lifetime of the electrolytic capacitor from the relationship among the lifetime prescribed in the temporal change data, elapsed time of the temporal change data corresponding to the change of electrostatic capacity that was estimated by the capacity change estimation means at a time point when time t had elapsed from the reference time point, and time t when the above estimation was conducted.
