<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery charger in order to improve disadvantages of current chargers for lithium ion secondary batteries and nickel hydride/cadmium accumulator batteries. <P>SOLUTION: A battery charger 10 includes a housing 11, an input power supply, a manual switch 30, a charge control circuit, a discharge control switch, and at least one USB output port 60. The housing 11 is used for storing components for charging and has a charge seat 12 on its surface. The charge seat 12 has charge slots C1 to C4 used for attaching multiple AA batteries or AAA batteries therein. One end of each charge slot C1 to C4 is a positive electrode end and the other end is a negative electrode end. The housing 11 has a plug 13 connecting with an external power supply.
