<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus that can prevent increase in size of a housing member (a body) while ensuring a desired area to contact with a platen glass plate. <P>SOLUTION: A reinforcing frame 31 is arranged along at least one wall surface 25a of a plurality of wall surfaces that define the interior space of a housing member 25. The reinforcing frame 31 is formed of a processed metal plate material so as to constitute a wall part 31a along the wall surface 25a when it is fixed to the housing member 25 and a support part 31b that is curved from the upper portion of a wall 31 toward the inside of the housing member 25 and supports a platen glass 21 on its top surface. Thus, without forming a large-sized rib inside the housing member 25 to support the platen glass 21, the support part 31b ensures enough area to contact (a support area) with the platen glass 21, which can prevent increase in size of the housing member 25. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
