Provided is a method for forming the photoactive layer of an organic solar cell. The method for manufacturing the photoactive layer of an organic solar cell includes: (a) a step of preparing a plurality of D-A-D rods (10) having a D-A-D arrangement, wherein D is an electron donor and A is an electron acceptor; (b) a step of chemically processing the D (12) on either end of the D-A-D rods (10); (c) a step of preparing a base electrode (300) having a chemical attraction to A (11); and (d) a step of supplying the plurality of D-A-D rods (10) onto the base electrode (300) so as to form a photoactive layer including a helical rod having a plurality of spiral structures that are formed by the self-assembly of the plurality of D-A-D rods (10) on the base electrode (300).
