<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersion type inorganic EL element having sufficiently high emission luminance as a light emitting element, and a method for manufacturing the dispersion type inorganic EL element. <P>SOLUTION: A dispersion type inorganic EL element includes a luminous layer between two electrode plates in parallel, the luminous layer including zinc oxide phosphor particles which have planar defects and are dispersed in a binder. In the dispersion type inorganic EL element, 90% or more of the total number of the zinc oxide phosphor particles have an axial length ratio represented as long-axis length/short-axis length of 1.05-1.50, and 40% or more of the total number of the zinc oxide phosphor particles have an angle between the normal line of the planar defects and the normal line of the principal plane of the electrode plates of 70-90°. A method for manufacturing the dispersion type inorganic EL element includes a step of applying an electric field to orient the zinc oxide phosphor particles so that the angle between the normal line of the planar defects and the normal line of the principal plane of the electrode plates is 70-90°. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
