The component comprises a core made of a partial glass-fiber reinforced plastic, a clad layer made of a non-galvanizable, fiber-free plastic, which surrounds the core, an electroplated layer made of a galvanizable plastic, and an outlet slat of an air outlet aperture. The electroplated layer partially covers the clad layer, and is chrome plated with a metallization (18). An independent claim is included for a method of preparing a component.
