<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable accurate discrimination between two signals of the same wavelength band used for different purposes. <P>SOLUTION: An instruction pen outputs an optical signal of a weak level when a switch is in a first state, and outputs an optical signal of a strong level when the switch is in a second state. An IR camera outputs positional information on the optical signal, when an optical signal of a signal level greater than a predetermined threshold value is detected, based on an imaging signal obtained in an imaging unit for imaging the optical signal outputted from the instruction pen.
