<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader which even when an operator removes ejected documents from a document ejection part not fully loaded during image reading processing, is capable of feeding documents continuously. <P>SOLUTION: The image reader is provided with: an ejected paper document full load detection sensor which detects whether the ejected paper pocket serving as the document ejection part is fully loaded with the ejected documents; and a CPU 110 which counts the number of the ejected documents ejected to the ejected paper pocket.
