The valve assembly has a valve housing, in which a closing body (3) cooperates with a valve seat. The closing body is loaded by a closing spring (1). The closing spring is made of multiple windings of spring wire. A friction- or stop unit (2) is provided within the closing spring. The friction- or stop unit is provided as a homogeneous component of the closing spring or is utilized as an independent manageable component in the closing spring.
