Provided are a method and device for monitoring a subframe of a communication system. The method includes: a base station sending information for indicating subframe configuration to a user terminal; the user terminal determining the type of the subframe in a wireless frame according to the information for indicating subframe configuration; and further configuring the dynamic subframe determined as having been obtained according to preset conditions. Also provided is a device for monitoring a subframe of a communication system, wherein subframes of the type such as fixed uplink subframe, fixed downlink subframe and special subframe and so on are determined as having been obtained according to the information for indicating subframe configuration, which achieves good compatibility with the old version LTE terminals, reducing the protection time overhead required for changing the subframe type. Moreover, the dynamic change demand of the up/downlink traffic is better met by increasing the number of types of dynamic subframe, improving the utilization efficiency of the resources, and at the same time, it is easy to be implemented, reducing the costs of re-development.
