<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly engage a friction engagement element for start even if a prime mover is stopped and started in a short period of time during stoppage. <P>SOLUTION: The fluid pressure control device is configured as follows. A linear solenoid SLC1 is composed to be able to confine a hydraulic fluid in an oil chamber 58 of clutch C1 by closing an output port 82b. When a line pressure PL is a set pressure or more, the output port 82b of the linear solenoid SLC1 and oil chamber 58 of the clutch C1 are communicated with each other and the communication between a discharge port 62b of electromagnetic pump 60 and the oil chamber 58 of the clutch C1 is cut off. When the line pressure PL is smaller than the set pressure, the communication between the output port 82b of the linear solenoid SLC1 and the oil chamber 58 of the clutch C1 is cut off and a C1 relay valve 70 communicating the discharge port 62b of electromagnetic pump 60 with the oil chamber 58 of the clutch C1 is provided.
