PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively producing a gas hydrate in relating to the method for generating the gas hydrate from a raw material gas purified from natural gas. SOLUTION: The method for producing the gas hydrate is to remove an acidic gas 3 from the natural gas 1, carry out dehydration 5 of water accompanied with the same, subsequently separate and remove a part of heavy component 7 generating no gas hydrate 10 under relatively high temperature, take out the residual heavy component with excess light components without contributing to generation of the gas hydrate 10 in a process 9 for generating the gas hydrate as a fuel gas 11 and use the same as the cooling source or the power source of a cooling system in the process 9 for generating the gas hydrate.
