PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to prevent the diffusion of impurity by forming a diffusion barrier between a dielectric layer and a protective film and to improve the discharge efficiency of a panel. CONSTITUTION: A front substrate(10) constitutes a plasma display panel by being attached with a rear substrate. A diffusion barrier(16) prevents impurity components to be diffused within a protective film(17) from the front substrate or dielectric. The diffusion barrier is composed of a material which is transparent and has an electrically insulation property. The diffusion barrier is composed of a plurality of layers consisting of different materials and comprises SiO2 material. The diffusion barrier is formed between a dielectric layer(23) and protective film. |
