<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively provide an optical fiber matrix or others being a large and high density glass fine particle-deposited body without excessively increasing an amount of gas to be combusted. <P>SOLUTION: A glass fine particle depositing device 1 is constituted of a reaction vessel 3, burners 5, and a target mounting section 6. A plurality of burners 5 are arranged at a predetermined interval in the reaction vessel 3. The reaction vessel 3 has a substantially circular cross-sectional shape. Any material of the reaction vessel 3 can be used if it has a high reflection ratio and heat resistance and corrosion resistance needed at the reaction vessel inside surface temperature when using. The line E1 connecting a heating center 25 and a target center 27 is assumed, an extending line passing through the target center 27 and directed in the direction within ±45° to the line E1 is E3. The inside surface near the crossing point of the line E3 within ±45° to the line E1 and the reaction vessel 3 becomes the target material-side reflective surface 29b.
