<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly estimate a temperature of a disk rotor. <P>SOLUTION: An electric motor of a brake unit is configured to move a brake pad to the disk rotor while pressing the brake pad to the disk rotor. A friction factor estimating unit 124 estimates the friction factor of the disk rotor by referring to a map prepared in advance to the temperature of the disk rotor. A work amount calculating unit 114 calculates the work amount of the brake pad using the estimated friction factor, a pressing force of the brake pad to the disk rotor, and a distance of the movement of the brake pad on the friction slide face of the disk rotor.
