<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a shading difference caused by non-image dots formed in a blank area from becoming visible. <P>SOLUTION: A printer includes a head and a control device controlling an operation of the head. The control device determines whether or not a non-ejection duration from an ejection of an ink droplet from an ejection port until next ejection of ink droplet exceeds a predetermined time, with respect to each ejection port. With respect to the plurality of discharge ports in which it is determined that the non-ejection duration exceeds the predetermined time, preliminary ejection data for performing preliminary ejection once from each discharge port toward a paper sheet during a time period from a first time point when ink droplets are ejected first previously until a passage of a predetermined time is generated, and is output to a head control section.
