<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detecting device capable of optically detecting the position of an object in a broad range with high accuracy, and an input function-equipped display system. <P>SOLUTION: A position detecting device 10 uses, when creating light intensity distributions (a first light intensity distribution LID1 and a second light intensity distribution LID2) in which the intensity varies from one side to the other in the range of radiation angles of a detecting light beam L2, a light source unit 12 having a light guide LG of a curved shape having a light emitting face LGout on its outer circumferential face LG3 and a plurality of light emitting elements 120 each arranged in respective light incident units LGin provided at a plurality of positions in the circumferential direction on the inner circumferential face of the light guide LG. The detecting light beam L2 emitted from each of the plurality of light emitting elements 120 is emitted from the outer circumferential face LG3 of the light guide LG while travelling within the light guide LG, continuously varies in light intensity and, at the same time, manifests a light intensity distribution having a high light intensity level. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
