DATA COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, SERVER, AND DATA COMMUNICATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide data communication technique for suitably charging for communication when the communication is restarted after a data communication error occurs.

SOLUTION: Data responding to a transmission request RQ1a for the data is transmitted from a server 90 to an MFP 1. Based upon a communication amount (data size SZ1) of data received by the MFP 1 up to the point of time of interruption of communication due to error, charge PR1 for data communication based upon the transmission request RQ1a is calculated first (step SP14). A retransmission request RQ1b having the same contents with the transmission request RQ1a is transmitted thereafter from the MFP 1 to the server 90 together with the data size SZ1 (step SP21), and data based upon the retransmission request RQ1b is transmitted to the MFP 1 (step SP22). Charge PR2 for the data communication based upon the retransmission request RQ1b is calculated based upon not only data size SZ2 as the communication amount of the data based upon the retransmission request RQ1b, but also the data size SZ1.
