<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system having a portable information terminal and hardware connected thereto that is capable of providing power source for control from the portable information terminal to the hardware with consideration for convenience of a use of the hardware. <P>SOLUTION: An embodiment of the disclosed information processing system is a system having a portable information terminal and hardware connected to an audio input/output terminal thereof. The system uses a signal output from an audio output terminal as a signal for control between devices, and also boosts pressure of a signal output from another audio output terminal to use the signal as power source for hardware drive.
