<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a male terminal having a contact part with a wide flat area secured, and having improved connection reliability without falling-down of a free end of the contact part or depression of a center part. <P>SOLUTION: A contact part 10 has a base part 11, a bending part 12 extending from one width side of the base part 11 and folded to be overlaid on the base part 11, and a flat pedestal part 15 held between the base part 11 and the bending part 12. The bending part 12 comprises a thickness side 13 vertically standing from the base part 11, and a wide side 14 communicated with one side of the thickness side 13 and overlaid on the pedestal part 15 in parallel to the base part 11.
