<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance device, along with a maintenance method and a liquid ejecting apparatus, which can remove liquid adhering to a periphery of an opening in a cap. <P>SOLUTION: The maintenance device includes: the bottomed cap 25 that can contact with a recording head for ejecting ink from a nozzle to enclose the nozzle, and has the rectangular opening 25a in a side of the recording head; a drive mechanism 28 that allows an opening edge 25b comprising the periphery of the opening 25a in the cap 25 to contact with an ink-absorbable absorbent fabric 41; and a fabric winding reel 43 and a winding motor 44 that moves the absorbent fabric 41 in a direction perpendicular to a liner portion of the opening edge 25b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
