In a lock for securing wing nuts of axles, supported in frame or fork recesses, of the wheels of cycles against theft, three lock parts are provided, which can be connected to one another releasably by means of a locking mechanism. The first part consists of an - in particular - two-part clip with legs which are connected movably to one another via a securing pin; the second part has lateral cutouts corresponding to the wings of the wing nut; the third part has a groove which is open towards the outside and an opening for the locking element and can be fitted onto the axle via the groove between the frame or fork and the wheel hub. The securement for so-called cap nuts disclosed in the main application P 3538244.9 is thus developed further to the effect that even wing nuts can be protected against theft. <IMAGE>
