The invention relates to derivatives of 4-arylcoumarin and 4-arylquinoline as a drug for treating cancer, specifically for treating tumour cells overexpressing the P-gp and/or BCRP pumps and tumour cells irrigated by vessels lined with endothelial cells of the hematoencephalic and hematotesticular barrier overexpressing the P-gp and/or BCRP pumps, preferably for treating cancers of the testicles, brain, kidneys, colon, lungs, liver and pancreas. The invention also relates to the method for synthesising such derivatives of 4-arylcoumarin and 4-arylquinoline.
