<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extinguish the arc generated when a contact is opened and closed, at an early stage. <P>SOLUTION: An electromagnetic relay includes: a contact opening-closing part 3 having a contact set composed of a pair of contacts capable of contacting to and separating from each other; an electromagnetic block 2 for driving the contact opening-closing part 3 to open and close the contacts; and an arc extinguishing member 103 composed of a connection member 105 formed by continuing opposite walls 106 disposed in the direction orthogonal to the contacting/separating direction of the contacts via an intermediate part, and permanent magnets 104 disposed at facing portions of the opposite walls 106. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
