This upper structure for a shoe (1) is provided with an upper body (3) for covering at least the toe part of the foot of a wearer, the upper body comprising a stretchable material; and a toe-pressing member (4) for pressing against the toes from above when the toes come into contact with the upper body (3) during dorsiflexion of the foot, the toe-pressing member being provided at a position corresponding to the toes of the foot within the upper body (3) and comprising a non-stretchable material, and the outer periphery of the toe-pressing member being enclosed by the upper body (3).</p>
