PURPOSE: A shear control system and method for a thick plate are provided to detect a thickness error in advance when shearing a thick plate by adjusting the shear information with reference to the thickness information as well as the shape information of the thick plate. CONSTITUTION: A shear control system for a thick plate comprises a shape measuring unit(20) measuring the shape of a rolled thick plate, a thickness measuring unit(30) measuring the thickness of the rolled thick plate, and a control unit(40) which matches the shape and thickness measured by the shape and thickness measuring units and produces shear information of the thick plates based on the product information, shape, and thickness of the thick plate to be transmitted to a shear device(50).
