<p>The method involves diverting a partial flow of aqueous solution from a main flow to a bypass line through an activated charcoal bed (17). The partial flow is passed through a catalyst i.e. selective, platinum- or palladium-based catalyst, made of platinum, palladium or nickel, where the catalyst is contaminated with metal or metal ions. The difference between the potential of the aqueous solution is measured before and after partial and/or selective breakdown of any oxidizing agents present in the aqueous solution in the bypass using two measuring electrodes (2, 2'). The electrodes are selected from a group comprising titanium-mixed oxide electrodes, graphite electrodes, carbon electrodes, or boron-doped diamond electrodes. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining the concentration of oxidizing agents in an aqueous solution flowing in a main stream.</p> |
