PURPOSE: A system and method for controlling maximum demand power are provided to control a load according to importance of a predetermined load by detecting consumption power data according to each load. CONSTITUTION: An administration unit(110) transmits control sequence information of a load according to a step to a power control unit(120). The administration unit indicates a control result signal received from the power control unit to a user. The power control unit compares an actual demand power value with a pre-stored reference value for load control determination according to the step. The power control unit outputs the control result signal and a signal for controlling the load according to the control sequence information of the stored load according to the step depending on the comparison result. A watthour meter(130) outputs actual demand power to the power control unit. A plurality of loads(140-142) actually consumes the actual demand power.
