PURPOSE: A semiconductor light emitting device, a manufacturing method thereof, and a semiconductor light emitting device package including the same are provided to increase the efficiency of a package by adopting a horizontal section with a lozenge shape. CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor light emitting device package includes a sapphire substrate(11) and a nitride structure(12). The nitride structure is laminated on the upper side of the substrate. The nitride structure is composed of a plurality of nitride epitaxial layers including an active layer which generate slight. The horizontal sections of the substrate and the nitride structure have a lozenge shape with two acute angles and two obtuse angles. One or more reforming regions with a horizontal band shape are formed on one side of the substrate.
