<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar apparatus which is capable of suppressing the loss of information about a shape or a speed of an object to be measured by reducing instability of DOA. <P>SOLUTION: A radar apparatus 110 is mounted in a mobile device 120 and measures a distance to an object to be measured, a direction in which the object to be measured is present, and a relative speed of the object to be measured. The radar apparatus 110 comprises a first transmitting antenna 114 which radiates radio waves to the object to be measured, a receiving antenna group 115 which receives reflection waves of radio waves from the object to be measured, and a motion detection unit 131 which calculates the distance to the object to be measured, the direction in which the object to be measured is present and the relative speed of the object to be measured on the basis of the reflection waves received by the receiving antenna group 115. The first transmitting antenna 114 is fixed on the mobile device 120 in such a manner that an electric field strength minimal direction that is a direction in which an electric field strength becomes minimal in radio wave radiation characteristics in an elevation angle direction of the first transmitting antenna 114 becomes approximately parallel with a traveling surface of the mobile device 120. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
