Provided is an air bag device capable of protecting the front surface of an inflated bag unit from flying objects. An air bag device to be installed in a saddle-ridden vehicle (1) provided with a vehicle frame (10), and a seat (40) on which a driver sits that is positioned above the vehicle frame, the air bag device (100) being configured: so as to have a gas-producing device for producing inflation gas according to detection of vehicular impact or a sign of imminent impact, and a bag unit (110) for inflating and expanding in front of the seat (40) by inflation thereof with the inflation gas; and in a manner such that the bag unit is provided with a principal gas chamber (111) for stopping the driver, and a secondary gas chamber (112) positioned so as to cover the principal gas chamber in a region extending from the front surface to the side surfaces thereof.
