<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chain guide, and a chain tensioner device using it, of high work efficiency at assembly, high rigidity at a contact surface to a chain with low sliding resistance, being hard to wear even if contacting to the chain that travels at a high speed. <P>SOLUTION: A roller 12 contacting to a chain 1 includes a support shaft 13 supported by side plate members 9, facing each other, provided in the travel direction of the chain 1, and a roller bearing having a steel outer race 12a contacting to the chain 1, provided on the outer peripheral surface of the support shaft 13.
