<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ultrafine carbon fiber having high conductivity and dispersibility and suitably used as a conduction assistant for power storage device. <P>SOLUTION: Carbon fiber of the invention has a fiber diameter of 1 μm or less, a variation coefficient of the fiber diameter of 30% or less, an aspect ratio of 10 to 100 and a crystal face interval (d002) of 0.343 nm or more. A method for manufacturing this carbon fiber comprises a step of electrospinning polyacrylonitrile, and preferably further comprises subsequent steps of flame-proofing, carbonizing and pulverizing the spun polyacrylonitrile fiber. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
