The hydraulic pressure supply system (1) has a pressure accumulator (15), which is filled by a hydraulic pump (4) over an accumulator loading valve (14). The accumulator loading valve is switched between the hydraulic pump and the pressure accumulator. The hydraulic pump is permanently mechanically driven and is connected with a discharge pressure region (20) by a pressure relief valve device (24). The pressure relief valve device has an opening position and a closed position. An independent claim is included for a method for operating a hydraulic pressure supply system.
