The freewheel device (1) has an outer ring (3) rotating relative to an inner ring (2). A clamp body i.e. clamping roller (5), is arranged in a freewheel cage (4) between the inner and outer rings, and transfers rotational torque between the inner and outer rings. The inner ring includes a ramp contour (7) along direction of the freewheel cage, which includes a contour corresponding to the ramp contour such that switching of the freewheel cage is taken place during rotation of the cage. The cage rotates between two end positions.
