<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an occupant from being thrown out of a vehicle while preventing a front pillar trim from being damaged by a curtain type airbag. <P>SOLUTION: An airbag device 1 includes an airbag 10 and an inflator 2. The airbag 10 is arranged to a front pillar 93 along the top of a sidewall 91. The inflator 2 expands and develops the airbag 10 by generating gas. The airbag 10 has an upper expanding part 42, a lower expanding part 43, and a front air chamber 3. The upper expanding part 42 overlaps the front pillar 93 when the airbag 10 expands. The lower expanding part 43 overlaps a door trim 95A when the airbag 10 expands. The front air chamber 3 develops from the inside of a front pillar trim 93A to the inside of a vehicle cabin and expands by gas flowing only from a lower gas inlet port 3A. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
