This disclosure relates to polymer coated particles targeting cancer cells and methods related thereto. In certain embodiments, the disclosure relates to nanoparticles coated with amphiphilic polymers conjugated with molecules useful for targeting tumors, monitoring the location of the nanoparticles administered to a subject by MRI, and viewing the presence of the nanoparticles during optical image-guided surgery.
