This disclosure concerns finishing rations for increasing the meat quantity of a silage-fed animal, and methods of using the same. In some embodiments, a corn silage produced from a corn variety exhibiting reduced lignin content (., BMR corn) is used to replace conventional silage in a finishing ration.
